Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening

1 c. sugar

1 1/2 c. applesauce

2 c. flour

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. cloves

1 1/2 c. raisins

2 tsp. baking soda

1 tbsp. hot water

Granulated sugar

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar. Add applesauce and flour mixed with the spices and raisins. Mix baking soda and hot water, add last. Pour in 9" x 13" greased and floured pan, spinkle with granulated sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until done.
