My unconventional creation of a German classic. Yummy and yet quick to make.

Ingredients
  • 2 fillets white fish eg. cod
  • 0.75 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1.5 tablespoons finely chopped dill
  • salt
  • white ground pepper
  • vegetable oil eg. canola oil

Directions
  1. Thaw the fish fillets and drain very well. Sqeeze out any remaining water.
  2. Put fish fillets, egg, 0.5 cups breadcrumbs, flour, dill, salt and pepper in a food processor and process till integrated. The fish paste shouldn't get too creamy. It's better to leave little lumps in it. That makes the fish cakes fluffier.
  3. Form 4 patties with your hands and coat with remaining breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the patties in the medium hot oil. Fry on each side for approximately 4 minutes.
  5. Serve with potatos and "Quark" (or ifyou can't get it cottage cheese or sour cream with herbs will work well).
