- 4 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 4 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups dark raisins shopping list
- 2 sticks butter shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- Egg wash: shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 tablespoon milk shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 350 degrees
- Whisk together first 4 ingredients in a bowl; gradually mix in raisins
- so they are evenly distributed.
- Add butter in small cubes and mix in with fingers or pastry blender until evenly blended.
- Whisk together eggs and milk in a small bowl; gradually stir into
- flour mixture until dough forms; working dough with hands if necessary; but do not overwork.
- Drop scant 1/2 cup amounts of dough onto 2 greased baking sheets.
- Lightly brush each scone with egg wash.
- In two batches, bake scones in 350 degree oven for 20 to 23 minutes.
