Candy Bar Cake

Another old one, good rich poundcake type.
Ingredients
- 1 c. butter or margarine shopping list
- 8 5 cent Hershey Bars (good luck on this price!) melted over warm water or microwaved carefully shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 c. buttermilk shopping list
- 2 c. sugar shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. soda (recipe says a 'pinch') shopping list
- 1 c. chopped pecans, optional shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter or margarine with sugar. Beat well.
- Add one egg at a time, beating well after each. Add the melted Hershey bars.
- Sift the flour, salt, and soda and add gradually to the other ingredients, alternately with the buttermilk.
- Add vanilla, and mix well.
- Bake in a greased, floured tube pan at 350 for 1 1/2 hrs or until tests done.

Great recipe! There may not be 5 cent Hershey bars any longer, but I think I remember them. I KNOW I remember 10 cent Hershey bars! Ate many growing up!

Well, I guess I'm old because I remember the 5 cent candy bars,lol. I also remember my grandmother making this one.
