Barbecue Sauce The All-Purpose Kind 1967 Recipe
This is another of my mother's clippings, one of the recipes she used for barbecue sauce.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • 3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp prepared mustard
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • dash of Tabasco (optional)
  • other seasonings to taste

Directions
  1. Cook onion in oil until tender but not brown.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and stir well to mix.
  3. Simmer 15 minutes.
  4. Use as basting sauce over chicken, pork chops or other meat.
