Barbecue Sauce The All-Purpose Kind 1967

This is another of my mother's clippings, one of the recipes she used for barbecue sauce.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup chopped onion shopping list
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 3/4 cup ketchup shopping list
- 3/4 cup water shopping list
- 1/3 cup lemon juice shopping list
- 3 Tbsp sugar shopping list
- 3 Tbsp worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 2 Tbsp prepared mustard shopping list
- 2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp pepper shopping list
- dash of Tabasco (optional) shopping list
- other seasonings to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Cook onion in oil until tender but not brown.
- Add remaining ingredients and stir well to mix.
- Simmer 15 minutes.
- Use as basting sauce over chicken, pork chops or other meat.
