Baked Pheasant With Rice Recipe
I found this recipe in an old cookbook that my mother left to me. She made it for us when we were growing up.

Ingredients
  • 1 pheasant, cleaned and cut into serving size pieces
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Flour
  • Cooking oil
  • 1 (8 oz) pkg. rice
  • 1 Tbsp onion flakes
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 1 small can mushroom stems and pieces, drained

Directions
  1. Season the pheasant pieces with salt and pepper. Roll in flour and brown in a small amount of oil in a heavy skillet.
  2. Cook rice according to package directions.
  3. Combine the onion flakes, soups, mushrooms with the rice.
  4. Place half of the mixture into a greased 2-qt. baking dish. Arrange the pheasant pieces on top of the rice mixture
  5. Combine the skillet drippings with the remaining rice mixture. Spoon over pheasant.. Bake at 350* for 45-50 minutes

Never ate this but sounds good thanks


I love pheasant, it is harder to find, however well worth it!


I have some de-boned pheasant breast in the freezer and I think I will try it in this...sounds like a great way to enjoy pheasant!
