How to make it

  • In medium saucepan, cook strawberries over medium heat, stirring occasionally until they boil.
  • Carefully strain berries using cheesecloth or jam strainer.
  • Return juice only back to pan and add sugar and syrup.
  • Cook over medium heat, again, bringing it to a full boil and continue to boil 1 minute.
  • Stir in nutmeg.
  • If a "foam" forms on the top, just skim it off.
  • You can serve this immediately or it can be stored in the fridge.
