- 1 cup rolled oats shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water shopping list
- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1 cup granulated sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil shopping list
- 2 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 1/3 cups all- purpose flour shopping list
- Praline Topping shopping list
- 6 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1 cup coconut, lightly packed shopping list
- 1/4 cup light cream or milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1 cup chopped peacans shopping list
How to make it
- spray a 9 x 13-inch cake pan with non-stick spray. set aside
- For the Cake:
- In a small bowl, mix rolled oats and boiling water. Set aside
- In large mixing bowl with wooden spoon, combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla. Sift together baking soda,
- cinnamon, salt and flour. Stir into sugar mixture. stir in oatmeal mixture. Pour into prepared cake pan.
- Bake for 35 minutes or until cake tests done. ( this will still be moist)
- For Topping:
- While cake is baking, melt butter in small pan. Add rest of ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simer while cake bakes, stirring frequently. When cake is done, remove from the oven and immediately pour praline mixture over hot cake. cool before serving.
- This cake doesn't have a cake texture. Its more like bread pudding.
