Artichoke And Beef Dip Recipe
I love this dip and I know there are many versions out there but I hope this one is a little different from the others.

Ingredients
  • 1 round loaf of bread ie. pumpernickel
  • 1 cup milk, homogenized or half n' half
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 (3 oz.) packages cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon horseradish
  • a dash of Tobasco sauce
  • 1 envelope of dehydrated vegetable soup mix
  • 1 (6 oz.) jar / can marinated artichokes, rinsed, drained and chopped
  • 1 (2.25 oz.) jar sliced dried beef, chopped
  • Note: I have also used canned corned beef and that works well too.
  • 1 cup Parmesan / Romano cheese, grated
  • Garnish with spring onion, washed and sliced and I also like to garnish with sliced and drained olives.

Directions
  1. Combine milk and egg in a saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium-low heat, whisking constantly until mixture begins to boil.
  3. Continue cooking on low heat then add cream cheese, sour cream, horseradish, tobasco sauce and dehydrated soup mix.
  4. When they have blended nicely, add the chopped artichokes, chopped beef and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Cook for approximately 5-10 minutes, stirring gently.
  6. Remove from stove and allow to cool for 5 minutes before placing in the hollowed out loaf of bread.
  7. Hollow the center of the bread to form a bowl.
  8. Tear the bread that you have just hollowed out into bite sized pieces for dipping.
  9. Pour the dip into the center of the bread and serve with bread pieces and tortilla chips / toasted pita triangles.
  10. Serves 8-10
  11. Note: This can be served hot or cold. I like the dehydrated veggies to soften a little more so I allow it to sit awhile before placing the mixture into the bread.
