Buttermilk Rolls

- Mix together: shopping list
- 1 cup lukewarm buttermilk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon sugar shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 3 tablespoons soft shortening shopping list
How to make it
- Crumble into mixture 1 cake compressed yeast or 1 package dry yeast.
- Stir until yeast is dissolved.
- Then add 2 /12 to 2 3/4 cups flour, adding in two additions, using amount necessary to make dough easy to handle.
- Turn dough on floured board, cover, let stand 10 minutes to tighten up, then knead until smooth.
- Cut in any shape, cover, let rise at 85 degrees until double in size, for 1 to 1 1/4 hours.
- Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) about 15 to 20 minutes.
- Makes about 1 1/2 dozen.
