Walnut French Toast

- 6 slices French bread shopping list
- 4 large eggs shopping list
- 1 cup milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg shopping list
- 1/3 cup butter softened shopping list
- 2/3 cup brown sugar firmly packed shopping list
- 1-1/2 tablespoons dark corn syrup shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts shopping list
How to make it
- Place French bread slices in a buttered rectangular baking dish.
- In large mixing bowl beat together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Pour egg mixture over bread and refrigerate overnight or for at least 2 hours prior to baking.
- Remove egg soaked bread from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In separate mixing bowl cream butter, brown sugar and dark corn syrup until smooth.
- Spread buttery mixture over top of bread slices then sprinkle chopped walnuts over top.
- Bake uncovered for 1 hour then serve hot from oven with syrup.
