Walnut and Cheddar Scones

- 2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped (or ½ tsp dried) shopping list
- ¼ tsp salt shopping list
- ¼ tsp pepper shopping list
- 2/3 cup butter shopping list
- 1 cup old cheddar, grated shopping list
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts shopping list
- 2 tbsp Italian parsley, finely chopped shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- ½ cup 10% cream shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400*F
- Mix dry ingredients together, incorporating well
- Rub the butter into this mixture until coarse and crumbly in texture
- Add the cheese, parsley, walnuts, and garlic
- Combine well
- Drizzle the cream into the mixture, stirring well to make a soft dough
- You may add more cream if necessary
- Knead the dough gently on floured working surface for about 5 minutes
- Pat out by hand to a disc of about 1 inch in thickness
- Cut into 8 wedges
- Place wedges on parchment paper lined baking sheet
- Bake about 20 minutes until golden brown
- To serve:
- Eat as is with butter, or add your favorite filling.
