Fresh Strawberry Sauce

If you find yourself with extra strawberies in the fridge, why not make this simple low-calorie strawberry sauce, delicious over pancakes, waffles and crepes. Or even on ice cream and cakes.
Ingredients
- 2 cups strawberries, sliced shopping list
- 2 tbs white refined sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch shopping list
- 1/4 tsp rum flavoring shopping list
How to make it
- Combine strawberries and sugar, cover and chill overnite.
- Drain and reserve juice.
- Add water to juice to equal 1/2 cup liquid.
- Combine liquid with cornstarch; stir until dissolved.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and clear. Stir in strawberries and rum flavoring.
- Serve warm or chilled.
