Ingredients
  • 500 grams Linguini Pasta
  • 250 grams diced prosciutto (italian bacon)
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium white onion, minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup black pitted olives, sliced
  • 1 tsp dried basil (or 1 tbsp fresh basil)
  • 1 tsp capers in vinegar (optional)
  • dash of ground pepper
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmiggiano-reggiano
  • *Subsitute linguini with spaghetti pasta

Directions
  1. Boil pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Saute garlic in olive oil, add onions and bacon.
  3. Add olives and capers.
  4. Add tomatoes and simmer until ingredients are well-blended and oil starts to come out.
  5. Add basil, ground pepper and salt.
  6. Mix with pasta and top with parmiggiano-reggiano.
  7. Serve in a large bowl with bread sticks, garlic bread or focaccia.
  8. Bon Appetit!
