Very moist and very decadent cake. This is a regular request from friends when I host dinner parties. Enjoy.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup chunky applesauce
  • 1-1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Directions
  1. Cream butter, brown sugar and peanut butter together until well combined then beat in egg and applesauce.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves then stir into sugar mixture.
  3. Pour into greased and floured square cake pan and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
  4. Cool before removing from pan.
