Lemon Chili Honey Recipe
this honey is a little different...it can be made as mild or as hot as you want... it's great served on biscuits, quick breads or as a glaze on chicken.. the recipe makes 2 cups... can be given as a gift in a fancy syrup container..

Ingredients
  • 2 cups honey
  • 4 strips lemon zest
  • 2 TBSP. fresh lemon juice
  • 3 whole dried chilies
  • 1/2 teasp. whole allspice

Directions
  1. In saucepan combine all ingredients
  2. bring to a boil
  3. pour into sterilized jars
  4. store 24 hours at room temperature before using
  5. refrigerate for up to 3 months
  6. honey may crystallize when refrigerated but can be put in the microwave to bring it back to liquid form
  7. makes 2 cups
  8. you can keep the zest, chilies and allspice in the jars or if the flavor starts to get too strong take them out
