Ingredients

How to make it

  • HEAT oven to 350°F. Spray a 13 x 9-inch pan with no-stick cooking spray; line with waxed paper and spray again. Combine cake mix, 3/4 cup water, sour cream and eggs at low speed until moistened; beat 2 minutes at high speed. Fold in candy sprinkles from mix. Pour into prepared pan.
  • BAKE 30 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; carefully remove cake from pan. Remove waxed paper from cake; cool completely.
  • TRIM cake if necessary to obtain straight sides and level top. Cut cake lengthwise into 4 equal strips. Cut each strip into 6 equal pieces, forming 24 blocks.
  • COMBINE all frosting ingredients in large bowl; blend at low speed until powdered sugar is moistened. Beat at high speed until smooth. If necessary, add 2 to 3 teaspoons water until frosting is of desired drizzling consistency.
  • SET cake blocks on wire rack over 15 x 10 x 1-inch baking pan or waxed paper. Spoon frosting evenly over top and sides of cake pieces. Allow frosting to set. Using tinted frosting, decorating bag, tips and candies, decorate to resemble children´s building blocks.
  • TIP One package pudding-included white cake mix can be substituted; fold in 1/4 cup multicolored candy sprinkles.
