How to make it

  • This recipe makes a double crust. The original recipe, taken from Joy of Cooking, was modified to allow for thicker crusts.
  • Blend flour, salt, lard and margarine with a pastry blender. Add water. Separate the mixture into two balls. Roll each ball into a sheet; one top crust, one bottom crust.

Haha... You're probably better sticking to lard. With all the hubbub over what's healthy and what's not, and it's changing every year or so, I just stick with what tastes good. (I didn't say that...)

Loves my lard! To be so good and so bad at the same time! If I'm going to be bad and use lard I'll probably substitute butter for the margarine...what a rebel!
