Banana - Oat Scones

- 1 1/4 cups spelt flour shopping list
- 3/4 cup flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats (not quick or instant) shopping list
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1 tbsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 3 oz cold butter, cubed shopping list
- 2 over-ripe bananas shopping list
- 2 tbsp whole milk shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 tbsp brown sugar shopping list
- 1 tbsp honey shopping list
- 1/3 cup miniature, semisweet chocolate chips shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Grease a large baking sheet.
- Stir the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
- Cut in the butter until the mixture looks mealy.
- Mash the bananas with milk, vanilla, sugar and honey.
- Add the banana mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until partially combined.
- Turn out onto a lightly floured counter and knead until the dough just holds together.
- Pat into a 3/4" thick circle.
- Cut into 12 wedges.
- Bake for 14 minutes, then remove to a wire rack and cool slightly (if you don't devour them first!).
