How to make it

  • Melt the butter in the top of a double boiler and sauteā€² onion until golden. While onion cooks, combine sour cream, sugar, vinegar, poppy seed, paprika, salt and cayenne. Mix well.
  • Remove the onion from heat and stir in the sour cream mixture. Keep the sauce warm over bottom of double boiler.
  • Wash, trim and cut the broccoli into serving pieces. Cook in a steamer until just tender-crisp.
  • When done, arrange broccoli on a warm serving platter and top with heated sauce. Sprinkle with the cashews or toasted almonds and serve immediately
