How to make it

  • pre heat oven to 220co
  • in a large bowl sift together all the dry ingredients
  • then add milk and butter
  • with a knife cut the wet ingredients in with dry until all comes together
  • in the bowl knead dough lightly to form a ball then leave to rest for 4 minutes under a damp cloth
  • lightly flour bench and once rested turn out onto lightly floured bench top
  • roll out dough to about 4cm thick and using a pastry cutter or knife cut pastry into round disc like shapes or any shape of your desire
  • brush tops of scones with a little milk and sprinkle a little light brown sugar if desired and bake for 10 minutes
