Man-Style Bacon Sandwiches

In 1965 the Duluth News Tribune Cookbook winner of the sandwich category. It was submitted by Mrs. Harry Van Kessel of Duluth. She's pictured with her son, Michael.
Ingredients
- 1 pound sliced bacon shopping list
- 1-1/2 Cups (4 oz pkg) dried beef, shredded shopping list
- 1/2 Cup chili sauce shopping list
- 1/3 Cup sweet pickle relish shopping list
- 1/4 cup minced onion shopping list
- ---------- shopping list
- 12 slices American cheese shopping list
- 12 hamburger buns shopping list
How to make it
- Cook bacon crisp, drain on paper towels, dice bacon.
- Combine first five ingredients.
- Cut buns and place a cheese slice on each lower half, top with bacon mixture, then the bun tops.
- Wrap sandwiches in foil and refrigerate until serving time.
- Bake in 300 degree oven until cheese melts, about 20 minutes.
- Serve hot.
