How to make it

  • Soak the garlic flakes in water for 20 minutes and drain.
  • Melt the butter in a large frying pan and fry the onions, mushrooms and garlic for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the basil, salt and pepper.
  • Slow simmer for 10 - 15 minutes, with the lid on.
  • Stir in cream. (add more cream if you wish)
  • Serve immediately. (If you pre-prep the sauce, leave off cream until just before serving)
