Mushroom Michelle Recipe
This is the perfect mushroom sauce for a fillet steak or baked potato! The sweet basil and black pepper perfectly compliments the mushrooms. Tip: Dont rush it

Ingredients
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic flakes
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 3 medium sized Onions, finely chopped
  • 500g Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Sweet Basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground Black Pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Cream

Directions
  1. Soak the garlic flakes in water for 20 minutes and drain.
  2. Melt the butter in a large frying pan and fry the onions, mushrooms and garlic for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the basil, salt and pepper.
  4. Slow simmer for 10 - 15 minutes, with the lid on.
  5. Stir in cream. (add more cream if you wish)
  6. Serve immediately. (If you pre-prep the sauce, leave off cream until just before serving)

Alterations


I prefer to use fresh garlic - 2-3 crushed garlic cloves. You save 20minutes on the prep time and I find the fresh garlic more flavoursome!
