White Leech Recipe
This is another jellied rose flavored sweet. My mom found it when we were looking for Turkish Delight. Strange name.... conjures up all kinds of things for me.......

Ingredients
  • 5 tsp unflavored gelatin
  • 4 oz. sugar
  • 1 pt milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp rose water (or vanilla)

Directions
  1. Sprinkle the gelatin over 4Tbs milk in a cup. Let stand for 5 minutes, then set cup in hot water and stir until gelatin is dissolved.
  2. Warm the rest of the milk and stir in the sugar and gelatin mixture. Simmer, stirring continuously, for 5 minutes.
  3. Remove from hjeat and stir in rosewater or vanilla
  4. Pour into shallow dish that has been rinsed in cold water. Refrigerate until set
  5. Cut into squares or cubes.

I love rose water - I always have a bottle on hand - you can find it in Greek stores, Middle Eastern stores. Also you should try this recipe with Orange Flower Water.
