Ingredients

How to make it

  • Chop up fine....
  • celery, green pepper & onion.
  • Brown 3 pounds ground chuck with your chopped celery, green pepper and onion.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Drain very well.
  • Then add....
  • ketchup, water, sweet relish & white vinegar.
  • Stir it up and let simmer.
  • (Smell of vinegar will disappear as it cooks).
  • I've put the sloppy joe in a slow cooker and it simmers very well that way or just on low heat on the stove.
  • Makes about 12-18 sandwiches.
  • Depends on how much you put on the bun.
