From littlemissey 15 years agoIngredients
- 1 stalk of celery shopping list
- 1 medium green pepper shopping list
- 1 small sweet onion shopping list
- 3 pounds ground chuck shopping list
- 20 oz ketchup (not sure if they sell 20 oz anymore so I buy 24 oz) shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 2 tablespoons sweet relish shopping list
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar shopping list
How to make it
- Chop up fine....
- celery, green pepper & onion.
- Brown 3 pounds ground chuck with your chopped celery, green pepper and onion.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- Drain very well.
- Then add....
- ketchup, water, sweet relish & white vinegar.
- Stir it up and let simmer.
- (Smell of vinegar will disappear as it cooks).
- I've put the sloppy joe in a slow cooker and it simmers very well that way or just on low heat on the stove.
- Makes about 12-18 sandwiches.
- Depends on how much you put on the bun.
