How to make it

  • Into a bottom pastry lined 10 inch pie pan place sliced and peeled apples.
  • Mix together, vanilla, sour cream, sugar, flour and combine well.
  • Pour over apples evenly.
  • Mix together pecans, sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over sour cream mixture.
  • Place on top crust, crimp edges to seal and vent pie in several places.
  • Bake in a 375F oven about one hour or apples tender.
  • Cool to room temperature.
  • Serve room temp or well chilled.
  • Ice cream goes great with this pie

    Not to brag, I enetered this myself the week I posted my recipe for the Valley apple pie contest for the best pie baker in the valley. I didn't stick around to find out the winner- just got an email I won first prize! and to pick up my gift basket prize!!
