Paula Deens Pear Fritters

- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 1 egg, slightly beaten shopping list
- 2 teaspoons sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 1 cup sour cream shopping list
- 1 cup self-rising flour shopping list
- 2 peeled and cored pears shopping list
- vegetable oil, for frying shopping list
- vanilla ice cream, for garnish, optional shopping list
- cinnamon-sugar, for garnish, optional shopping list
- confectioners' sugar, for garnish, optional shopping list
- maple syrup, for garnish, optional shopping list
- mint leaves, for garnish, optional shopping list
How to make it
- Whisk together milk, egg, sugar, cinnamon and sour cream.
- Add flour.
- Set aside.
- Slice the cored pears into rings.
- Heat the oil in skillet.
- Dip rings into batter and place in hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown.
- Top with vanilla ice cream and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar and powered sugar, if desired.
- Drizzle with maple syrup and garnish with a mint leaf, if desired.

This looks great. I think I will try it with Bananas as well as pears. My Mom made banana fritter once when I was about 12 years old. I thought they were great. I haven't thought of them in years. Thanks for the post. Gets my 5!
