My Favorite Lemon Bread

- 1/2 cup margarine shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour, sifted with 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teapoon salt shopping list
- grated rind of 1 lemon shopping list
- juice of 1 lemon shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Beat butter, sugar and eggs. Add alternately milk and flour, baking powder, and salt mixture. Add lemon rind.
- Bake in loaf pan sprayed with nonstick spray, for 45 minutes at 350.
- While bread is hot right from the oven and still in the pan, pour 1/2 cup sugar, dissolved in lemon juice, over the top. Cool on rack.
- Delicious sliced thin for tea or made into tyin sandwiches with cream cheese.
