How to make it

  • Beat butter, sugar and eggs. Add alternately milk and flour, baking powder, and salt mixture. Add lemon rind.
  • Bake in loaf pan sprayed with nonstick spray, for 45 minutes at 350.
  • While bread is hot right from the oven and still in the pan, pour 1/2 cup sugar, dissolved in lemon juice, over the top. Cool on rack.
  • Delicious sliced thin for tea or made into tyin sandwiches with cream cheese.
