Omas Sauerkirschen Torte- Sour Cherry Cake

- Base: shopping list
- 4 60g eggs or 5 50g eggs shopping list
- 100g sugar shopping list
- 250g mixed nuts shopping list
- 100g grated chocolate or 3 heaped tbspns chocolate powder shopping list
- vanilla essence shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 3 bottles of sour cherries (big bottles) shopping list
- cornflour shopping list
- Serving: shopping list
- Greek yoghurt or sour cream shopping list
How to make it
- Base: Cream eggs and sugar with vanilla essence.
- Fold in nuts and chocolate.
- Pour into greased 30 cm baking form.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes in a 220 deg C oven.
- Allow to cool before adding filling.
- Filling: Pour cherries with juice from one bottle into saucepan and warm slowly.
- Mix with cornflour with some of the reserved to a paste.
- Thicken sour cherries mix with cornflour until reasonably firm.
- Add more juice if necessary.
- Allow to cool to lukewarm temperature.
- Pour into cooked and cooled base.
- Serve: with natural yoghurt or sour cream.
