Chile Cheese Batter Bread

- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 3/4 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (4-ounces) shopping list
- 1 can (4-ounces) chopped Green Chiles, well drained shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk (1 cup of milk and 1 Tbls. vinegar can be substituted for the buttermilk if needed) shopping list
- 1 Tbls. vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease pie plate, 9X1 1/4-inches.
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda in large bowl.
- Add cheese and chiles; toss.
- Stir in remaining ingredients just until flour is moistened (batter will be lumpy.)
- Pour into pie plate.
- Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; remove from pie plate.
- Cool on wire rack.
