Slow Cooked Chicken And Stuffing Recipe
Since this is fixed in a slow cooker its easy enough to fix year round.This is a flavorful no-fuss main dish.

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup margarine or butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 can (4-oz.) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
  • 1 1/2 tsp. rubbed sage
  • 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 12 cups day-old-bread cubes(1/2" pieces)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 can (10 3/4-oz.) condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • 5-6 cups cubed cooked chicken or turkey

Directions
  1. In a saucepan, combine the first 9 ingredients.
  2. Simmer for 10 minutes; remove from heat.
  3. Place bread cubes in a large bowl.
  4. Combine eggs and soup; stir into brath mixture until smooth.
  5. Pour over bread and toss well.
  6. In a 5-quart slow cooker, layer half of the stuffing and chicken; repeat layers.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 4 1/2 to 5 hours or until meat thermometer inserted into the stuffing reads 160 degrees.
