Awesome Banana Bread

This is an old family favorite that is a great way to use bananas!
Ingredients
- 1/2 C butter, softened shopping list
- 1 1/2 C sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 3 well-ripened bananas shopping list
- 4 T buttermilk shopping list
- 2 C self-rising flour shopping list
- 1 C chopped nuts (optional) shopping list
- 1 t vanilla shopping list
- sauce: shopping list
- 2 T butter, melted shopping list
- 2T sugar shopping list
- 1/4 t cinnamon shopping list
How to make it
- Cream together butter / sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs; beat well
- Add mashed bananas, beat well
- Add buttermilk, flour, nuts and vanilla
- Bake in loaf pan for 45 minutes - 1 hour - pass straw test
- Glaze:
- Mix together and pour over bread while still warm.
