How to make it

  • Beat egg yolks until thick.
  • Add sugar, salt and flour.
  • Mix well.
  • Add boiling water slowly, stirring constantly.
  • Cook over hot water till thick and smooth.
  • Add flavoring.
  • Pour into baked pie shell.
  • Cover with meringue made with egg whites and 3 Tablespoons sugar.
