Ingredients

How to make it

  • Remove the seeds from the peppers and the chilies. Coarsly chop.
  • Put the peppers and the chilies in a casserole, add water until it reaches a couple of centimeters above the bottom of the casserole.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes
  • Blend to a purée and add the lemon zest
  • Measure the volume of the purée and add an equal volume of sugar
  • Simmer until it has reduced with about 1/3

    It's my mother-in-law's favorite. She expects a jar every Xmas; she doesn't eat it with mature cheese, though, but with Cottage Cheese. We've served it with deer or as is more common in Norway; reindeer.
