Apple Pecan Sticky Buns Recipe

Ingredients

2 tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced 1/4 inch thick

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon butter, softened

1 recipe biscuit dough or 1 loaf yeast dough

1/2 cup brown sugar

4 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

4 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup milk or cream

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons honey

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Grease a 9-inch square baking pan.

Prepare the apples, toss with one tablespoon brown sugar and 1 tablespoon butter.

Roast in the prepared pan, covered loosely with foil, for 15 minutes or until tender.

Lower oven heat to 350 degrees.

Prepare recipe using 2 cups of flour for biscuit or yeast dough (part whole-wheat if desired), or use thawed prepared dough.

Roil out on a lightly floured surface to make a 9-inch square.

Mix the 1/2 cup brown sugar withpecans and cinnamon.

Chop in 4 tablespoons of butter.

Sprinke the mixture on top of the dough.

Cover evenly with roasted apples.

Roll up, jelly roll style, and cut crosswise into 9 slices.

Arrange and bake in prepared pan until golden, 35 - 40 minutes.

Transfer to a rack to cool.

Prepare the glaze by bringing to a boil the remaining 5 ingredients in a small saucepan.

Whisk over the heat for about 2 minutes, to thicken a bit.

Let cool slightly.

Drizzle sauce over the warm buns that have been transferred to a serving plate.
