Caramel Dumplings

- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- pinch of salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- milk shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 cup finely chopped pecans. shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 3 cups hot water, shopping list
- 1 cup granulated sugar, shopping list
- 1 tbsp butter shopping list
- pinch of salt shopping list
How to make it
- Sift flour, powder, salt and sugar together. Add sufficint milk to make a stiff batter. Add vanilla and nuts.
- Meanwhile, caramelize 1/2 cup sugar in heavy skillet and add 3 cups hot water, 1 cup granulated sugar, 1 tbsp butter and a pinch of salt.
- Allow to boil toether for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Pour into baking dish and dop batter by teaspon full in boiling hot syrup.
- Place in hot oven, at 400 degrees.
- Bake 15 to 20 minutes until puffed up and brown.
- Serve Hot.
