How to make it

  • Simmer together all ingredients for sauce while making meatballs, this helps the jarred sauce have a little more of a homemade taste
  • Combine by hand all ingredients for meatballs
  • Form into 1 inch - 1 1/2 inch balls
  • Spray large skillet with non-stick spray
  • Add meatballs and cook about 15 minutes, turning as they brown
  • When brown on all sides, cover and cook about 10 minutes
  • Pour sauce over all
  • Re-cover and cook another 10 minutes or so
  • SUBS
  • While meatballs are cooking, saute mushrooms in margarine and olive oil
  • If desired, butter insides of hoagie rolls with Emeril's Garlic N Herb Butter (posted, but, stir together butter, evoo, garlic and italian seasoning), and heat buttered side down in large skillet
  • Fill buns with meatballs/sauce, top with mushrooms, olives, banana peppers, mozzerella, and parmesan as desired
