This recipe produces a bread that is remarkably like English muffins and is great first thing in the morning.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 3 tbsp nonfat dry milk
  • 2 tsp yeast

Directions
  1. Place the ingredients in the order according to your bread machines' directions.
  2. Make sure the water is at room temperature when you put it in the bread machine.
  3. This recipe will produce a 1 1/2 pound loaf.

I wish I could bake at all! Anything with yeast, or any attempts at southern buttermilk biscuits comes out a disaster when I try. I'd LOVE English muffin bread.
