How to make it

  • Pie filling:
  • Combine sugar,flour,cinnamon,nutmeg and lemon zest in a bowl.
  • Add apples and stir to coat.
  • Place in pie shell and dot with butter.
  • Place second crust over apples and seal.
  • Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degress and then for 30 to 35 minutes at 375 degrees.
  • While the pie is baking cook the creme sauce:
  • In a saucepan combine eggs,sugar and lemon juice.
  • Cook over medium heat and stir constantly until thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
  • Add cream cheese and sour cream.
  • After the pie is baked,spoon the sauce through the cut out on top crust.
  • Chill before serving.
