- apple Filling: shopping list
- 3/4 Cup sugar shopping list
- 2 Tablespoon flour shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon lemon,Zest,grated shopping list
- 5 Cups apples,peeled and sliced shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons butter shopping list
- Creme Sauce: shopping list
- 2 eggs,beaten shopping list
- 1/2 Cup sugar shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice shopping list
- 3 oz cream cheese,cut in pieces shopping list
- 1/2 Cup sour cream shopping list
- Two pie Crust: shopping list
- One placed in pie plate,the second crust with a cookie cutter cut out in the center. shopping list
How to make it
- Pie filling:
- Combine sugar,flour,cinnamon,nutmeg and lemon zest in a bowl.
- Add apples and stir to coat.
- Place in pie shell and dot with butter.
- Place second crust over apples and seal.
- Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degress and then for 30 to 35 minutes at 375 degrees.
- While the pie is baking cook the creme sauce:
- In a saucepan combine eggs,sugar and lemon juice.
- Cook over medium heat and stir constantly until thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
- Add cream cheese and sour cream.
- After the pie is baked,spoon the sauce through the cut out on top crust.
- Chill before serving.
