How to make it

  • Mix all the ingredients (except the fish and oil) with a little water and rub the paste over the fish.
  • Keep aside for an hour.
  • Heat the oil in a wok shallow-fry the fish till golden brown.
  • Remove and drain the excess oil on absorbent paper towels.
  • Repeat till all fish are fried.
  • serve on a bed of lettuce with lemon wedges

    I make something almost identical to this except for I add a little cornmeal to the 'paste'. Yummy.
