Ingredients
  • 500g (18oz) Whole Fish, cleaned, make 3-4 shallow cuts into each side
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 2 pinches Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Directions
  1. Mix all the ingredients (except the fish and oil) with a little water and rub the paste over the fish.
  2. Keep aside for an hour.
  3. Heat the oil in a wok shallow-fry the fish till golden brown.
  4. Remove and drain the excess oil on absorbent paper towels.
  5. Repeat till all fish are fried.
  6. serve on a bed of lettuce with lemon wedges

I make something almost identical to this except for I add a little cornmeal to the 'paste'. Yummy.


This sounds simple and so tasty. Just perfect. Will be trying this one.
