How to make it

  • Brown the chicken on all sides in the butter and oil.
  • Add water and salt,cover and cook over low heat until tender,about 45 minutes,turning pieces several times.
  • Cook the rice according to directions.
  • Drain fat from the chicken skillet.
  • Combine jelly,corn syrup and orange juice,stir and pour over chicken.
  • Heat and spoon sauce over chicken until the chicken is glazed and sauce is thick,about 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Stir 1 tablespoon grated orange rind into the hot rice.
  • Serve the glazed chicken and sauce over the rice,sprinkle with 1 tablespoons orange rind.
