Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 cup chopped onions

1 cup chopped green peppers

2 8 oz cans tomato sauce

1 6 oz can drained kernel corn

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

3 tsp chili powder

Dash pepper

Cheese, all you desire

Topping:

3/4 cup yellow corn meal

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups cold water

1 Tbsp butter

Directions

Cook ground beef, onions and green peppers until meat is lightly browned and vegetables tender. Stir in tomato sauce, corn, garlic, sugar, salt, chili powder and pepper. Simmer 20-25 minutes, or until thick. Add cheese; stir until melted. Turn into greased

9 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Topping: Stir corn meal and salt into cold water. Cook and stir until thick. Add butter and mix well. Spoon over hot meat mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.

This is a classic. I added some beans, and used turkey instead of beef. We love our dishes really spicy, so I threw some chipotles in there too.
