Vegetarian Steamed Dumplings

- 1 red onion, sliced shopping list
- 1 tbs minced ginger shopping list
- 1 cup sliced shiitake mushrooms shopping list
- 1 cup spinach shopping list
- 1 cup carrots, shredded shopping list
- 1 cup chopped chives shopping list
- 1 tsp pepper shopping list
- 1 tsp sesame oil shopping list
- 1 package wonton skins shopping list
How to make it
- In a wok or large sauté pan, add a little oil and sauté onions and ginger.
- Add the mushrooms and stir. Add the spinach, carrots and chives. Season.
- When mixture is soft, place in colander to drain. Add the sesame oil when mixture is cooled. Check for seasoning.
- Using the wonton skins, make half moon dumplings keeping the bottom flat.
- In a large saucepan bring 8 cups water to boiling.
- Drop the wontons, one at a time, into boiling water. Simmer, uncovered, about 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and rinse with cold water; drain well
