How to make it

  • Combine egg, onion, water chestnuts, soy sauce, gingerroot, sugar, salt, and pepper.
  • Add ground pork and chopped shrimp; mix well.
  • Using the wonton skins, make half moon dumplings keeping the bottom flat.
  • In a large saucepan bring 8 cups water to boiling.
  • Drop the wontons, one at a time, into boiling water. Simmer, uncovered, about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and rinse with cold water; drain well.

    I'm a fried dumplings junkie, so when I try these I'll add a Step 7 and pan fry them a couple of minutes. Sound scrumptious! 5 forks!!
