Mothers Popovers

- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 cup of milk shopping list
- 1 cup of flour shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt shopping list
- 1 tablespoon of melted butter shopping list
- This is a fine popover made just like this, but it becomes extraordinary when you use melted duck fat instead of the butter and add a 1/2 teaspoon of powdered mushroom. shopping list
How to make it
- Beat two eggs until foamy.
- Do not separate.
- Add milk and combine with flour sifted with salt.
- Beat just enough to mix and add the melted butter.
- Pour into greased hot muffin tins.
- Cast iron are best.
- Bake 20 minutes at 450 degrees;
- reduce heat to 350 and bake for 10 minutes more.

Love the Toad in a Hole idea, notcho - gotta try that! We love popovers (I was raised on them, too - sky high and dripping with butter and jam)...yum!
