Easy Spanish Rice

- 1 cup uncooked regular rice shopping list
- 1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup) shopping list
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups water shopping list
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 small green bell pepper, chopped (1/2 cup) shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 3/4 teaspoon chili powder shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder shopping list
How to make it
- Cook rice and onion in oil in 10-inch skillet over medium heat about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is golden brown and onion is tender.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
- Cover and simmer about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender.

WOW - needed something quick, easy and delicious and this was all three! I did add some Franks Hot Sauce as we like ours spicy and also par cooked 4 boneless chicken thighs and added to pan just before the covered 30 stretch. Awesome.
