Ingredients

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup brown sugar

1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon cinnamon

3/4 cup vegetable oil

2/3 cup crushed pecans

1 egg

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons soda

1 cup buttermilk (may substitute 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar plus milk to make 1 cup. Let stand 5 minutes before adding to batter

Directions

Preheat oven to 350.

Combine first 6 ingredients till crumbs are formed.

Remove 1/3 cup crumbs.

In a separate bowl, mix 2/3 cup crushed pecans and crumbs.

Set aside for topping.

Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

Pour into a greased 8" x 11.5" .glass baking dish.

Sprinkle topping over batter.

Bake for 30 minutes or until seems firm on top.

Serve warm
