Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Whisk together the sugar, eggs, corn syrup, 3/4 cup chopped pecans and melted butter.
  • Mix well.
  • Pour mixture into crust.
  • Either sprinkle with 1 cup chopped pecans OR arrange whole pecans in concentric circles (time-consuming, but makes a beautiful presentation!) on top of pie.
  • Bake for 75 minutes.
  • **If pecans begin to brown too much, cover pie with foil.
  • Remove from oven.
  • Transfer to a wire rack for cooling.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.. ANYTHING for you, michael. When I make this pie I become the butt of quite a lot of ribbing because I take care to arrange the top pecans in concentric circles on the pie. This wreaks havoc as soon as a family member sees it.. obsessive-compulsive is the most-used description. I truly do know that it tastes the same if the nuts are scattered on top! Uh-oh! Maybe they're right...
Enjoy, michael 'cause it is a goodie. Thanks for your five.. yours are especially important to me for some reason.
