homemade Cheese Crackers

- 3/4 cup (3 1/8 ounces) King Arthur Unbleached all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 cup (1 ounce) orange or Vermont cheese powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar shopping list
- 2 3/4 tablespoons water shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening shopping list
How to make it
- Mix all ingredients briefly, just till combined and smooth, with a pastry blender in a medium bowl. Let dough rest 1 hour, covered. Roll out very thin (1/16-inch thick) on a floured surface and cut into squares. Bake for 7 minutes at 425°F, turning pan halfway through baking time. Yield: about 54 1 1/4-inch squares

Where do you get cheese powder? Sounds like another good cracker. We go through a lot of store bought cheese crackers.

These sound great, Peeta. Every one of King Arthur's recipes I have used turned out wonderful and I use some of their bread recipes over and over. I'm sure this is no exception. High 5 - and thanks! :)
