Ingredients
  • 1.5 to 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 1 Onion, chopped in whichever fashion prefered
  • Spaghetti Sauce to mix, whatever feels right for your taste
  • One clove garlic
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Stuffing (I generally use one cup)
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Ketchup (whichever feels right with your combo, I do not put too much ketchup into the actual meat loaf, probably about 1/2 cup)
  • Mushrooms
  • For the Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tsp. Mustard
  • 1 Tsp. Worcestershire Sauce

Directions
  1. Combine beef, egg, onion, sauce, garlic, seasonings, stuffing, ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. Top with the above sauce. Reserve a bit of the sauce to apply at the end of cooking or for heated leftovers.
  2. Serve with Mashed potatoes and a side dish of your choice.

The list of ingredients sounds pretty good but guess what? I really like recipes better if they include quantities - 1 cup, 2 TBS, etc., at least as a starting point. I know everyone likes to do their own thing but if you're sharing your prized recipe why not be a bit more specific, then if the cooks want to vary thngs it's easy enough to do. Just my thoughts, not meant to criticize in any way. I've never made meat loaf and your's sounds really good.


Duh...Sometimes you just have to make allowances for silly comments made prematurely. I misread the recipe and after re-reading it I feel totally stupid, you did a great job of listing suggested quantities. I'll be making this for dinner tonight and hope you'll accept my apologies for my earlier comment. Best, LL


No problem. With the ketchup I usually use about 1/4 to 1/2 cup with the meat loaf, its just more on feel so its not dry but not too saucy. Hope you enjoy the recipe.
